This episode was originally intended to be a more jovial conversation, like the episode we recorded a few months ago on Halloween. We were minutes from recording when TMZ began reporting that Kobe Bryant had died earlier that morning. We recorded a few hours later, and spend the top of episode discussing what Kobe -- a recent Oscar winner himself -- meant to the city, and why he was significant in our lives not just as NBA fans, but as LA transplants.
